Well, it was bound to happen. I’ve noticed over the past few years that we as Adventists tend to be a bit slow in adopting new Internet technologies. This isn’t too surprising, even though we paved the way with religious radio and television broadcasts. Well, today the Adventist church is entering into the online social network foray with their own official entry: SDALink. SDALinks was announced today in conjunction with the retirement of Lonnie Melashanko from the Voice of Prophecy. The reason for the connection? Users of SDALink can join a group on the site that is sending farewell videos to Lonnie Melashanko, some of which will be played during his farewell reception at the Adventist Media Center on September 11, 2008.

At first glance the site seems different, but that’s probably just because I’m used to the MySpace and FaceBook platforms. I’ve already signed up and really want to give this site a chance! Care to join me?

PS - If my profile looks a little bare, know that I will be adding more to it over the weekend as time permits. ;-)
